Let's Talk About: Phone Battery Power(mAh)
Hey guys, before we start talking about batteries, you have to understand a simple term called "mAh(milliampere-hour)". mAh is technical term used to measure the amount of electrical charge a battery(phones) can hold. It is also a unit used to quantify how long a battery can last given a constant power draw. The higher the mAh, the longer the battery can last but there is also one major player in this statement, how much power is the device drawing from the battery. mAh is used for smaller batteries while bigger batteries use Ah which is 1000*Ah
If i have a 4000mAh battery on a device and the device constantly draws 1000mA per hour, then the battery can supply current for 4 hours. If the device is constantly drawing 400mA per hour then the battery can deliver current for as long as 10 hours. The thing is, you can't really know how long a battery can last without knowing the discharge rate. We can all agree that this almost impossible on a phone because different functions require different amount of electric charge.
The bottom line is, when you are shopping for your next phone, take a time-out and look at the battery specifications, so as to know what you are actually getting. If you have any questions you can ask in the comment section below.
